Veterinarians

Note: We respectfully  request that you do not contact Timberland Vet Hospital for a referral.  Consider the time constraints of this VERY busy veterinary practice. They have frequent emergencies, and are Canine Reproduction specialists. If every breeder that utilizes their services had referral calls also, there would be a lot of calls.  The staff does not have time to speak with people who are not their clients.  Timberland staff compliments us on our puppies, and have referred clients to us. Understand that, although there is no "perfect breeder", we have had a number of referrals and repeat Buyers over the years. See our Testimony page for more info.

Blessing Acres has used the services of Timberland Veterinary Hospital in Ethel, WA for several years.  Dr Cheryl McDermott, DVM, and her team serve a number of area breeders in our local counties. Timberland's office is very rural, thus a 40 minute drive from our home. The benefit we receive from accessing the Timberland staff's knowledge, is well worth the drive.

Dr. McDermott  shows and raises Pharoah Hounds. So, she knows first hand what being a breeder is all about. We are very thankful for her knowledge, and that there is a Canine Reproduction specialist that we have access to.

We also utilize a few other local vets, when the need arises and Dr. McDermott isn't available.

Herbal Medicine

Terese has a growing interest in Herbal Medicine for dogs. Her interest stems from the family's use of Naturopathic, rather than Allopathic medicine. She is self-educating from the writings of Pet Herbalists and Holistic Veterinarians. She has already experienced success with using Herbs to heal one of our Havanese studs.

Blessing Acres  will always take the route of seeking veterinary medical advise with our animals, if the Herbal medicine isn't quickly effective, or a dog's condition requires more specialized care.  Our belief is, that there are plant medicines (herbs) that can be very effective in treating conditions that are not serious. If we don't try new ideas, we won't learn that there are other options in healing.
